COURSE OVERVIEW
Fungal infections are frequent in occurrence and have worldwide predominance. These infections make their homes in moist areas of the body where skin surfaces meet: between the toes, in the genital area, and under the breasts. Many fungi that infect the skin (dermatophytes) live only in the topmost layer of the epidermis (stratum corneum) and do not penetrate deeper. Through this module the clinician is likely to have an increase depth of knowledge regarding different types of fungal infections in humans, diagnostic parameters, their clinical presentations and treatment for the same.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
