Pediatrics Master CME: Managing Pediatric Lower Respiratory Tract Infections

COURSE OVERVIEW

Respiratory tract infections account for the majority of child care–related illnesses. An acute lower respiratory tract infection (ALRI) is a leading cause of morbidity and mortality amongst children in developing countries. In the United States alone, pneumonia and influenza rank as the sixth leading cause of death. Lower respiratory tract infections include most common disease entity like Bronchiolitis, Bronchitis, Pneumonia, and exacerbations of Asthma. Through this module, the pediatrician will have a better understanding of pathophysiology of various lower respiratory tract infections and role of antibiotics in managing them.
